Key student statistics from the 2026 rankings highlight TU's inclusive approach: a near-balanced gender ratio of 52% female to 48% male students, 19.6 students per staff member, and  international students, reflecting its focus on serving local communities.  TU is actively pursuing internationalization, collaborating with over 180 higher education institutions worldwide to attract regional and global talent.

At the heart of TU's mission are four specialized research centers driving innovation: the Center for Economic Development and Administration (CEDA), Center for Nepal and Asian Studies (CNAS), Research Center for Educational Innovation and Development (CERID), and Research Center for Applied Science and Technology (RECAST). Additionally, the Open and Distance Education Center (ODEC) extends learning opportunities through flexible, remote modes.

"TU remains dedicated to delivering world-class education at affordable costs to students from all walks of life". The institution's reform agenda is ambitious and multifaceted, emphasizing the integration of information and communication technology (ICT) into curricula, governance, and management; faculty capacity-building to keep pace with evolving disciplines; partnerships with government and corporate entities for program development and research; infrastructure upgrades for enhanced learning environments; and broader internationalization efforts.

The THE rankings, which evaluate institutions on teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry engagement, position TU among thousands of global universities. While maintaining its 1501+ status, the university views this as a foundation for further ascent, with ongoing initiatives poised to elevate its standing in future assessments.
