Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between Tribhuvan University and Beijing Foreign Studies University

In a significant step towards fostering academic collaboration and cultural exchange, Tribhuvan University (TU) and Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) of China have officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU, aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two esteemed institutions, was signed at the office of the Vice-Chancellor in Kirtipur, Nepal.

The agreement encompasses various facets of academic exchange and collaboration, including exchanges of students, faculty, scholars, and administrative staff. Both universities have committed to engaging in research collaboration in fields of mutual interest, as well as exchanging and sharing academic materials and information to enrich their respective academic environments.

The MoU signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Keshar Jung Baral, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, and Prof. Dr. WANG Dinghua, Chairman of the University Council of BFSU, who formally sealed the agreement.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, Prof. Dr. Keshar Jung Baral commended the cultivation and fostering of indigenous knowledge and expertise in China. He reiterated TU's commitment to robust research and collaboration, language exchanges, and the exchange of students and faculty members.

Similarly, Prof. Dr. WANG Dinghua expressed his keen interest in working jointly with Tribhuvan University to promote academic excellence and cultural understanding between the two nations.

The ceremony was enriched by the presence of distinguished guests, including Binod Joshi, Executive Director of the Centre for International Relations, who delivered a warm welcome speech. Prof. Dr. Kushum Shakya, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, delivered closing remarks, emphasizing the significance of the occasion and the potential benefits of the collaboration for both institutions.

Among the attendees were notable figures such as Xu Xe, Chairman of the Schools of Asian and African Studies; HE Jing, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation; Xu Ye, Chairman of the Schools of Asian and African Studies; LIU Born, Director of the Human Resources Office; XING Yun, Director of the Teaching and Research Department of Nepali Language to the School of Asian Studies; and GUAN Xin, International Officer of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation.

The signing of this MoU marks a pivotal moment in the academic landscape of Nepal and China, promising fruitful collaboration and exchange opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers of both institutions.
