Tribhuvan University Signs MoU with Xuzhou University of Technology

Kathmandu – Tribhuvan University (TU), Xuzhou University of Technology (XZUT) in Xuzhou, China, have formalized a comprehensive partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening academic ties and joint innovation. The agreement focuses on mutual academic exchange, faculty and student mobility, sharing of teaching-learning methodologies and materials, collaborative research, and capacity building between the two institutions. Under the MoU, both universities committed to joint research dissemination, exchange of scientific data and research outcomes, co-authorship of publications, and the organization of joint symposia and workshops. Special emphasis was placed on cooperation in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence and Bio-Engineering, alongside broader technological expertise sharing. The agreement is expected to open new opportunities for Nepali and Chinese scholars and students.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Khadga K.C, Rector of Tribhuvan University, and Prof. Dr. Wang Fengbo, Vice President of Xuzhou University of Technology. Speaking at the ceremony, TU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Deepak Aryal highlighted the importance of collaborative research and praised XZUT’s remarkable progress in innovation and technology development. Prof. Dr. Wang Fengbo expressed keen interest in partnering with TU particularly in Artificial Intelligence and Bio-Engineering disciplines. The signing ceremony was attended by senior TU officials, including Prof. Dr. Vishnu Prasad Pandey, Executive Director, Centre for International Relations, who delivered the welcome address; Prof. Dr. Susil Bajracharya, Dean, Institute of Engineering; Prof. Dr. Shankar Prasad Khanal, Dean, Institute of Science and Technology and Prof. Dr. Bed Raj Acharya, Dean of the Faculty of Education. The event marks another significant step in Tribhuvan University’s expanding global academic network and its commitment to internationalize higher education and research in Nepal.
